'A selection of multiple small drawings and images, along with various multiple messages, stories and feelings.
I set out to create and curate a collection of small drawings that reflect my diversity as an artist and my creations, with pieces coming from different backgrounds and experiences, many of which pay homage to our culture and identity through creative expression.
Each artwork has its own theme, each piece has its own social justice component, and one of the best things about being in my role is that I effortlessly stand down and let the viewer be the one who drives the social justice movement.
This selection of multiple small drawings focuses on works that address current social issues, in order to inform the audience and inspire them to consider possibilities beyond their present understanding. Each drawing is responding to one specific social subject.
The works raise discussions in accessible and insightful ways for both arts and non-arts audiences to consider new perspectives on these topics.
Featuring works that reflect social issues including diversity, identity and existence.
In an increasingly uncertain world, working within a sociopolitical context I want to share the tools of better understanding our position in it, examine it, and change it.
Every drawing is narrating a story, a message, a question and I want the viewer to translate all of the above to their own attributes.
As Wassily Kandinsky once said: Everything starts with a dot. So my aim is to collect the dots, connect them and draw different lines, directions and expressions through them.
I think art has the ability [to], if not cure or heal, at least enlighten, provoke you, wake you up.
In my creation process, context and content, Art has been created as a response to social unrest and inequality throughout history. It also can serve as a catalyst for difficult debates and conversations about diversity, the need for cultural understanding and the challenges before us regarding unity and justice'.
